Trailer for the GUIdancer

We were approached by the Braunschweig-based company Bredex GmbH to design a film trailer for their highly successful GUIdancer software. The trailer combines real video sequences and computer animated graphics.

The film narrates the story of a ballet dancer, showing a variety of steps from simple exercises to complex pirouettes. During the real film sequences elements from the graphic user interface blend in and the dancer dances into a virtual world of icons and buttons.

Using high quality video material, Christoph Luchs designed the storyboard, the animation and the final edit. Cogneus was also responsible for the film music: soft piano chords and synthesizer sounds accompany the dancer’s graceful movements, while the technical part showing the software elements has an underlay of cool techno beats.
